Adem Limited was formed in January 1990 to provide on-site service and maintenance for all types of microfilm equipment.

 

In an extremely successful 16 years the company has expanded considerably and now have offices in London and St Helens and Scotland. These sales and service centres control strategically placed engineers offering true national service coverage. The purchase of larger new freehold premises in November 1992 allowed the service operation to expand and diversify with repair and maintenance service also available on electronic filing systems, imaging equipment and specialist point of sale products. Additionally, further investment in the specialist division providing support service on microfilm security cameras and electronic cash registers for the Betting industry has placed us in a market leading position.

The Company has made a number of significant acquisitions in recent years each providing an enlargement of the customer base, together with the benefit of additional personnel to strengthen our engineering team.

 

1994
The purchase of Holtronics Ltd, a long established micrographics service organisation. The St Helens branch of Holtronics was maintained and has since been expanded to control the northern operation.

 

The purchase of the service division of ARC Imaging – Bristol. This acquisition considerably improved our capability in the South West.

 

1998

The acquisition of Colvin Document Management Solutions primarily involving the servicing of Canofile and PC based systems.

 

The purchase of the business of Information Equipment Maintenance Ltd an independent micrographics servicing company of some 25 years standing.

 

Acquisition of the service, maintenance & supplies business of Symtronics Ltd, a well established micrographics company covering the heart of the country.

 

ADEM has always reacted to the demands of their customer base and equipment sales, both new and reconditioned, together with consumable supplies, is a major contributor to the business. The opportunity arose to become Canon Main Dealers in 1992 and since then the company has become a major supplier of Canon Microfilm Reader Printers, Cameras, Electronic Filing Systems, Document Scanners and Large Format Printers. Canon training and technical support has also strengthened the Company's technical base and ADEM has the rare distinction of being a Canon approved third party maintenance company.

 

Full showroom demonstration facilities on a wide range of equipment and software are available in both the London and St Helens offices.

 

The company can supply all leading makes of both micrographics and computer based hardware, together with a comprehensive range of carefully selected software products.

 

A significant part of ADEM’s business has always been with our trade partners in the industry and the company has built an unrivalled reputation for integrity and confidentiality. A high number of micrographics companies use ADEM for total service support or as emergency cover for holidays and busy periods. These trade partnerships have now also extended to the imaging arm of the business with many joint ventures successfully completed.
